Lab Gibraltar – proud to support the “Sierra Leone Marathon”.

We were proud to contribute to the Sierra Leone Marathon by supporting Phil Langley, Associate Director Ibex Insurance Services, (www.everydayhero.co.uk/phil-langley) who raises money for the good cause “Street Child”!

The Sierra Leone Marathon is a unique event uniting all participants in one common goal: support the projects of the UK charity “Street Child”. The “Everydayheroes”, like Phil Langley, had the opportunity to visit, meet and draw inspiration from the very children they’ve been fundraising for – some of the most vulnerable children in the world.

“Street Child” believes that every child has a right to a safe home and an education. The organisation supports at risk Ebola orphans to go to school. They’ve already helped over 50,000 children to go to school and enabled thousands of families to generate sustainable incomes so that their children can stay in education.

Lab Gibraltar sponsored a price for a raffle, organised by Phil Langley and with the support of Ibex Insurance, offering two weekend passes for the Gibraltar Music Festival.

“The Ebola epidemic in Sierra Leone and Liberia cost over 4,000 lives and orphaned over 12,000 children. Street Child has identified 1,400 seriously at-risk Ebola orphans who are in urgent need of support. At the outset, it was the thought of trying to help children in the most inaccessible parts of one of the poorest countries in the world that were living on the streets and had no access to education.”
